Info: BIBLE QUIZ was my debut feature documentary. The film won the Slamdance Grand Jury Award, 9 other festival awards, played in 7 cities theatrically, at 35+ festivals, on Netflix, and on the Sundance Channel Global in 20+ countries. The film was selected for the US State Department’s American Film Showcase.
Logline: BIBLE QUIZ follows seventeen-year-old Mikayla Irle as she memorizes books of the Bible on her quest to win the National Bible Quiz Championship and the heart of JP, her quiz team captain. The film explores coming of age in the face of faith, doubt, fierce competition, sexuality and teen love.

I was commissioned to make a Branded docu-series about collectives and the first episode was UNITY MOSQUE, a short film about a queer mosque in Toronto. The mosque also performed Sarah Hegazi’s (the main subject of DEAR FRIEND) funeral services.
